People of Delhi may be able to consult some of the top doctors of government hospitals through tele consultation mode soon. A report quoting sources said, the government is planning to start telemedicine services for non-covid patients who face issue visiting hospitals as they have been dedicated for covid-19 patients.
“It has been five months now that big Delhi government-run hospitals that catered to huge areas of the city have been unable to treat non-Covid patients. The cases have come down now and Delhi government has been able to contain the Covid-19 situation, leading to discussions on how to take care of other patients,” a senior official was quoted as saying by a TOI report.

A meeting was held last week with senior doctors of government hospitals on the issue, he said. “Many of them are of the opinion that we can start by providing telemedicine facilities but nothing has been finalised yet.
A decision may be taken this week,” he said. Apparently, the government is concerned for NCD patents who needs urgent medical attention. As many of the hospitals have been declared Covid-19 hospitals, they find it tough to seek medical advice.
