NEET UG 2020

One of the biggest worries of medical aspirants who cherish the dream to study in one of the best medical colleges across the country, to get tips on how to crack the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) exam. Candidates are often found clueless on how to prepare for the exam, a gateway to decide their career in the medical field.

The exam to be held on 3 May 2020 as per the notification released by National Testing Agency (NTA), an agency responsible to conduct exam across the country. The exam will be held in the pen-and-paper mode and from March 27, 2020, the applicants can download the admit card from the official website of NEET. The result is scheduled to be released on June 4.

Here are some simple steps which could be followed to get better results in the exam.

1. Focus on core subjects

As NEET is a three-hour long exam which includes three sections – physics, chemistry and biology, one should pay equal attention to these subjects. The exam tests a student’s strength in all these subjects. A total of 200 questions are asked- 90 from biology and 45 each from physics and chemistry. A total of 10 questions are asked from General Knowledge and Aptitude sections. Every correct answer would get plus four marks and every incorrect answer results in a negative mark. Questions that are not attempted do not have any penalty marks.

2. Set up a daily study plan

Students are advised to set up a ‘daily study plan’ chart so that they could manage time for every subject. One should allocate more time to that subject where he or she lacks expertise. Newspaper reading is a must to get through with General Knowledge and Aptitude section.

3. Focus on clearing concept

Candidates should focus on concept clearance as it is key to get hold of the subject. Previous question set should be revised after finishing the NCERT syllabus to get familiarized with the pattern of the question paper. In addition, it will help students to know what will be the level of complexity. Once students will have a clear concept, a question from any subject could be solved easily.

4. Revision is key

Students should work on revision as well to memorise things. A fine preparation strategy for NEET UG 2020 will be one that includes a good mix of theory, problem-solving and revision of 5. previous exams’ questions.

5. Test your capability through mock test

Medical aspirants should check the level preparation through ‘mock test’. The exercise would help them to know about their strength and weakness areas. It will be a reality check of the preparation.
