Venture debt firm InnoVen Capital has invested $1.6 million(Rs 12 crore) in DocsApp, an online doctor consultation platform.

The Bengaluru-based startup would utilise the fund to expand its presence across India and meet growth requirements.

Elaborating further about objective of the investment, Punit Shah, Director, InnoVen Capital India, said, “DocsApp’s constant focus on bridging the existing gaps in India’s healthcare sector has led the company to gain a massive scale in the country. Its solutions have had a positive impact on people from Tier 1, 2 3, cities and also to those that do not have access to quality healthcare. As a result of its targeted solutions and exceptional metrics, it has achieved a leadership position in the market.”

Founded in 2015, DocsApp offers online consultation facilities through its artificial intelligence powered platform. Through video, voice calls, and chat application, the startup helps patients get connected with expert including specialist doctors. Around 5000 specialist doctors are registered on the platform which provides consultations across 15 specialities, including gynaecology, paediatrics, and dermatology.
