The Haryana government has decided to enroll private hospitals to provide treatment services to poor class patients. Government has allotted land to these hospitals, based on that private hospitals will offer healthcare services to the poor patients on concessional rates or free of cost.

“Also, certain number of beds had been reserved for such patients,” official said in a statement.


“The state government had provided and allotted lands to various private hospitals through agencies like HUDA  (Haryana Urban Development Authority) on concessional rates throughout the state. One of the essential conditions of such allotments was provision of treatment of poor patient free of cost or on concessional rates,” said a spokesperson from health department.

Further to this, for strategic health system planning and to integrate efforts with healthcare provision of the state, the government will be obtaining data of private hospitals. Additionally, as directed by the government, all civil surgeons in Haryana will collect information on availability of concessional beds or quota in private hospitals, in their respective jurisdictions.

“They have also been directed to obtain last two years data of utilisation of these beds and quota so that the data could be used for better and effective delivery of healthcare system,” added spokesperson.
