In order to streamline and supervise the work of accredited social health activists (ASHA), Auxiliary Nurse Midwives (ANM) and anganwadi workers, m-sakhi application will be launched in five districts of Uttar Pradesh in October.

This move is aimed to frontline health workers in improving maternal, neonatal and child health.

For this project, Qualcomm has signed an agreement with state agency State Innovations in Family Planning Services Agency (SIFA) and National Health Mission through ‘IntraHealth’.

According to Anirban Mukherjee, Senior Manager of Qualcomm the ASHA and ANM workers would be provided with application equipped mobile phones during training. Also, the work done by frontline workers would reach senior officers through dashboard, which would facilitate supervision at block and district levels.

The mobile application m-sakhi was launched in November last year as a pilot project in Badagaon block in Jhansi district.
