WB Cabinet Identifies Land for AIIMS Like Hospital at Kalyani

For the proposed AIIMS like hospitals, West Bengal cabinet has identified 180 acres of land at Kalyani in Nadia district.
According to states Finance and Industry Minister Amit Mitra, the entire 180 acres of land lay with the government under the Animal Resources Development Department and have cleared the land valued at Rs 57 crore for theAIIMS-Like super-speciality hospital at Kalyani.
Since the land is in hand, no problem is left for this project. Now the issue is with the Centre for the implementation of the project, Mitra added.
The Centre had earlier given clearance to set up an AIIMS-like super-speciality hospital at Kalyani. Setting up an AIIMS here was a long-standing demand of the Mamata government.
