Paras Healthcare, is a venture of passion,dedication and achievement. Thereal inspiration behind the hospitals,now the healthcare chain, is my fatherChaudhary Ved Ram Nagar, who wasdetermined to ensure that his childrenexcel in education and in life. He encouragedentrepreneurship, and alwaysbelieved in providing the communitywith the resource that it lacked in.

How do you compare theservices and infrastructure, at thetime of inception in 2006, withwhat you have achieved today?
Evolution is a part of growth and development,and for a tertiary care hospitalit is imperative. The systems,processes, trainings, and mostimportantly the manpower hasto grow every year. Today, ParasHospitals, Gurgoan is a 250-bedleading tertiary care hospital ofthe region. We strongly endorse the skills of ourdoctors. For us technology is a waythat enables our doctors to performbetter. Paras Hospitals, Gurgaon hasbeen the first private hospital in Delhi& NCR to equip itself with a standaloneImage-guided Tumour Navigationtool. This technology helps ourexceptionally skilled neurosurgeonsto have functional MRIs and Tractographyduring the surgery. It is mostlyuseful in deep-seated tumour surgeries-this type of surgery is rarelyperformed by neurosurgeons in other parts of the country. Dr V S Mehta,Director Neurosciences, Paras Hospitals,has been the driving force for establishingParas Hospitals, Gurgaonas the leading Neuroscience centre ofthis region.In our Cardiac Sciences Department,Paras Hospitals, Gurgaon, hasevolved and adopted the latest clinicalrecommendations. Today, 98 percent ofthe patients are treated through TransradialCatheterisation. Our entireinterventional team, under the leadershipof Dr Tapan Ghose, is equipped toperform Transradial procedures—atechnique still rarely used by the cardiologistsdue to the requirement ofextensive skill and training.In Paras HMRI hospital, Patna, wehave launched the regions first PETCT.This technology is the first in Biharand Jharkhand. Today, Paras Healthcare has threerunning commissioned hospitals. Ourpresence is now beyond Gurgaon, andtoday, we have a centre in Delhi, ParasSpring Meadows, a sought-after centrefor mother and child care. Accordingto our mission of providing healthcareservices to regions where the same isnot easily available, we now have a350-bed hospital in Patna, Paras HMRI,a tertiary-care hospital with a well equippedcancer centre.In the second half of the year, weshall be launching a hospital in Darbhanga(135 kms from patna)—ParasGlobal Hospitals. It would be the firsthospital in the region to have an ICU,cardiac facility and full-fledged inhousediagnostics.Also, soon we shall be coming upwith a 500-bed green field project inNCR. The same shall have the state-ofthe-art cancer-care centre.Paras Healthcare shall continue toexpand in unexplored markets.
