1(18)Saket City Hospital (SCH), a wholly owned subsidiary of Dr. B K Modi led Smart Health City, announced the launch of Saket City Heart Institute, which will run two certified centres “ Priority One and the Centre for Arrhythmia (heartbeat disorder). Dr. Valavanur A Subramaniam, the father of beating heart surgery, flagged off the launch of the unique facility.

The facility was unveiled in the presence of Dr RK Mathur, Medical Director; Dr. Mohan Nair, Chairman, Cardiac Sciences; Dr. G.K Mani, Chairman, CTVS; the Cardiac Sciences team; and the entire clinical faculty.

Speaking on the facility, Dr. BK Modi, Chairman, Smart Global, said The unique model is equipped to tackle unscheduled cardiac emergencies and make cardiac-care services available to the general population, round the clock. SCH has joined forces with Aapka Urgicare Private Limited for ensuring localisation of cardiac-care services. The Aapka Urgicare centres at different locations will provide patients with short and medium term hospitalisation services before they are transferred to a tertiary care centre for critical care thereby ensuring timely action during the first one hour of the attack

Dr. G.K Mani, who was announced as Chairman, CTVS during the ceremony, said Saket City Heart Institute will ensure seamless and coordinated approach to cardiovascular care thereby promising best outcomes for the patients. A separate emergency room called Priority One Heart Command Centre has been instituted with the goal of assuring that treatment is initiated within 30 minutes of arrival. The cardiac surgical department is equipped to handle all emergencies that require urgent surgery.

Priority One is a unique hub and spoke model, which will be providing immediate intervention to patients with cardiac disorders at neighborhood clinics, was conceived to buy time by administering primary cardiac-care treatment on patients who are unable to visit far off hospitals in the face of acute medical emergencies. As the first choice of the patients caregiver is to seek medical help at nearby nursing homes or clinics, due to the lack of specialization in the field, general physicians are unable to mete out basic life saving treatments to the affected.

Explaining the concept, Dr. Mohan Nair, Chairman, Cardiac Sciences said, Priority One is a programme that will network with several hospitals/clinics across the cities to be able to provide the necessary instructions to the general physicians/clinicians. They would ensure that the correct primary treatment is administered at the right time and place. The patient will then be sent to a tertiary care centre in the pre-reserved ambulance, to carry out the necessary specialized treatment. The transition is to be seamless for a stress free experience for both patient and caregivers.

Certified Centre of Excellence in Arrhythmia, located within the SCH premises, was conceived to address heart beat disorders in any age group. A team of specially trained and highly skilled cardiologists, cardiac interventionists, cardiac surgeons and cardiac experts have been appointed to handle the rarest of cardiac rhythm disorders and emergencies, under the supervision of Dr. Mohan Nair, Chairman, Cardiac Sciences. The centre has best in class technology and equipment, including the latest in cardiac imaging, angiography and advanced 3D mapping system to be diagnosis with various types of cardiac disorders manifesting in different age groups and weight classes.

It is SCHs sincere attempt to make the best of heart-care facilities available to the population of Delhi at affordable prices. SCH plans to enter into strategic partnership with a number of general physicians, hospitals and clinics across Delhi to strengthen the network.
