Core Diagnostics launches knowledge sharing platform for oncologists, when in the plan is to connect 1000 oncologists and pathologists within the first six months.

Core Diagnostics, the leading high end clinical laboratory in India launched COREconnect, a live web platform that intends to connect Indian oncology community on a one-of-a-kind knowledge sharing platform, on the eve of the first Indian Cancer Congress (ICC2013) in Delhi.

COREconnect will allow doctors to view and browse cases, search for similar cases and review and share cases live on a single knowledge sharing platform.

Oncology diagnostics space is complex and challenging with new diagnostic, prognostic, and predictive markers becoming available continuously. COREconnect deploys the network-effect to help practitioners keep their knowledge current, and rely on their peers for expertise and collaboration. Patients will also benefit because COREconnect will also serve as a platform for second opinions, said Zoya Brar, Co-founder & Managing Director, CORE Diagnostics. CORE Diagnostics is an organisation dedicated to increasing awareness about the importance of correct, timely diagnosis and correct prognosis.

Over time, CORE intends to expand the editorial board of COREconnect. To start with, the board will be comprised of super specialists in oncology and pathology, and will curate the case gallery. Later, we will add other specialties such as cardiology, reproductive medicine, etc. We believe that the numbers of specialists joining will be as high as 5000 within the first year. We also believe physicians of Indian origin living abroad will also want to participate in the spirit of giving back, added Zoya.
