Annual PTCA Registry 2010 was conducted in Bhubneshwar, where about 300 Cardiologist from all over India Participated, debated and discussed their Clinical experiences, Peculiar cases, complications etc. The ‘angiography review session’ is a “highlight’ of the scientific meeting and a challenge in itself to manage. Usually these sessions ‘drag’ the schedule of the conference and invariably run into delays as people bring in CDs in various formats, Films, Laptop etc. and as an organizer it is very difficult to juggle all these and still keep conference on time. SoftLink International with its rich expertise to design products in medical imaging has developed a DICOM Imaging suite to cater the requirement of such conference. A networked solution was installed with a Server and couple of workstation at the Conference Venue. All the angio CDs, received from over 100 centers in India were uploaded, sorted and categorized under clinical sessions like, “Chronic Total Occlusion”, “Angioplasty during MI” etc. This categorization and uploading of angio CDs on a unified DICOM platform helped manage the show very efficiently. As a result of deployment of HCP DICOM Net, a cardiac imaging network, the conference and angiography session were a ‘resounding success’!
