New FDA Performance Tracking System aims to Boost Transparency

Earlier this month, FDA launched an online system called FDA-TRACK that includes 40 dashboards to track a variety of performance measures at the agency’s 100 program offices. The system is in beta mode and will expand in phases onto its own Web site. The dashboards are grouped into nine segments according to the agency’s divisions. Many of the performance measures are reported on a monthly basis, and others are one-time milestones for a specific project. Some measures relate to performance across the entire agency.
