Keane Inc., a formerly public (USD 1 billion-plus) software firm has won a $1.4 million, three-year deal with Parkway Hospital in Queens, New York, for a patient-management software product. That deal came the day after Keane announced a similar USD 1.2 million contract with Century City Doctors Hospital in Los Angeles. Parkway, a 251-bed New York community hospital that is a longtime Keane client, will use the Patcom software installation to improve business processes, including upgrades of its accounts payable, general ledger, pharmacy and laboratory systems. Century City Doctors, a 176-bed doctor-owned hospital, is also implementing the Patcom product, and other general financial software, by year-end. Keane’s Healthcare Software Division provides software and services to hospitals and long-term care facilities nationwide, according to officials at the San Ramon-based software giant. In June, Keane was acquired for $854 million by little-known Caritor Inc. of San Ramon, which retained the Keane name for the merged company. Its U.S. client management unit is based in Boston. Keane has over $1 billion in annual revenue and employs more than 14,000 in 10 countries: the United States, Australia, Canada, France, India, New Zealand, Singapore, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.
