Shilpi Sinha has taken charge as Director, Country Head – GCO India at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, bringing more than 12 years of experience across clinical research, clinical operations, project management and quality management to the role. She assumed the position in September 2026 and is based in Mumbai.

Sinha steps into the leadership role with extensive experience in managing clinical operations and global clinical programmes. Her professional experience spans clinical monitoring, project and quality management, functional and line management, as well as engagement with customers, vendors and health authorities.

Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, Sinha spent over 14 years with Bristol Myers Squibb, where she progressed through several leadership positions. Her most recent role was Director, Country Head RCO India, a position she held from November 2024 to August 2026. Earlier, she served as Associate Director, Country Head RCO India, Lead – Regional Clinical Operations, India, and Senior Project Manager & Quality Specialist.

Her experience at Bristol Myers Squibb included leadership of regional clinical operations across India and other Asian markets. As Senior Project Manager & Quality Specialist, her responsibilities covered Asia, including India, Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Thailand and Taiwan.

Sinha’s clinical research experience also spans PAREXEL and Quintiles, where she worked across project quality and clinical team leadership functions. At PAREXEL, she provided quality oversight throughout the project lifecycle, with a focus on GCP compliance, regulatory requirements, project documentation and quality interventions.

Over the course of her career, Sinha has contributed to clinical programmes across multiple therapeutic areas, including oncology, virology, cardiology, bipolar disorder and anti-infectives. Her international project experience covers India, Central and Eastern Europe and South Africa, with responsibilities spanning studies from start-up through close-out.

Her leadership experience further includes customer and vendor management, contract and Master Services Agreement development, KPI tracking, process improvement and pharmacovigilance-related initiatives. She has also worked on Kaizen initiatives and supported safety-report tracking and responses to health-authority queries in collaboration with pharmacovigilance teams.

Sinha holds an M.Sc. in Medical Biochemistry from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, and a B.Sc. in Chemistry (Hons) from the University of Delhi. She is also a Certified Yellow Belt in Six Sigma and has received Employee of the Year recognition during her career.
