As per the recent information, Kinny Singh has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Pharmaceuticals under the Central Staffing Scheme.

As per an official order issued on March 23, Singh’s name was put forward for Central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs, following which she has been selected for this strategic role in New Delhi. Her tenure is set for four years from the date she assumes charge, or until further orders.

A 2014-batch officer of the AGMUT cadre, Singh brings a unique blend of administrative and healthcare expertise to the position. She holds a Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) degree from Nehru Homeopathic Medical College and Hospital, reflecting a strong academic grounding in the medical sciences prior to her entry into the civil services.

Over the years, Singh has built a diverse governance portfolio across multiple geographies. Her previous roles include serving as Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate in East Siang (Arunachal Pradesh) and West Delhi, as well as Special Secretary in the Delhi Government. She has also contributed significantly to public health administration as Mission Director under the National Rural Health Mission in Arunachal Pradesh.

Within the Delhi administration, she has handled key assignments across the Health & Family Welfare and Women & Child Development departments. Most recently, she served as Director-cum-Special Secretary (Health) and Administrative Member in the Delhi Jal Board.

Her appointment comes at a time when the pharmaceutical sector is witnessing rapid transformation driven by policy reforms, digital integration, and innovation-led growth. Singh’s combined experience in healthcare delivery and governance is expected to contribute meaningfully to the evolving priorities of the Department.
