In a landmark move, SS Innovations International Inc. (SSII), led by Founder, Chairman & CEO Dr. Sudhir Prem Srivastava, has entered into a strategic collaboration with the Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (SMSIMSR), Chikkaballapur, Karnataka.

The partnership, formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed at SSII’s Gurugram headquarters in the presence of Shri Sadguru Madhusudan Sai, will see the donation of the SSI Mantra Surgical Robotic System—India’s first and only indigenously developed robotic surgery platform—to SMSIMSR.

This initiative is poised to establish a world-class Robotic Cardiac Surgery Centre at the institute, positioning it as South India’s leading training destination for robotic procedures across multiple disciplines, including adult and pediatric cardiac surgery, thoracic, general surgery, urology, gynaecology, and head & neck surgery.

Under the agreement, Dr. Srivastava will:

• Support the first 100 robotic surgeries at SMSIMSR.
• Cover five years of full maintenance costs for the SSI Mantra System.
• Lead advanced surgical training programs for multidisciplinary teams.

Speaking about the collaboration, Dr. Srivastava said, “This partnership reflects the union of technological innovation with a mission for inclusive healthcare. Our aim is not only to elevate robotic surgery standards but to make its benefits accessible to underserved and rural communities across India.”

Shri Sadguru Madhusudan Sai, Founder of SMSIMSR, added, “By welcoming Dr. Srivastava as an Honorary Professor, we gain global expertise that will shape the future of robotic surgery in India. Together, we are redefining access to quality care—making it a right, not a privilege.”

For the healthcare ecosystem, this collaboration underscores two critical trends: the integration of indigenous medtech solutions into advanced surgical care and the expansion of equitable access models through public-good partnerships. It also reflects how private innovation can fuel social impact without compromising on quality or technology standards.

Founded in 2023 by Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai and inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, SMSIMSR is India’s first private medical college offering completely free MBBS education. Affiliated with the Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence and approved by the National Medical Commission, the institute operates on a unique “In Rural – For Rural” model, training doctors dedicated to serving underserved communities.

With this MoU, SMSIMSR now steps into the national spotlight—not only as a centre for compassionate care and free medical education but also as a frontrunner in robotic surgical innovation.
