Ujala Cygnus Healthcare Services has announced the appointment of Nitin Nag as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), marking a strategic leadership move as the hospital network accelerates its expansion across underserved regions in North India.

With close to 30 years of diverse experience across the healthcare and IT sectors, Nag brings a robust leadership profile to Ujala Cygnus. His professional journey spans key roles at Cloudnine Hospitals, Manipal Ankur, Tech Mahindra, and MphasiS, with extensive operational exposure in markets including India, the UK, the US, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, and Malaysia.

Before this role, Nag served as the Chief Operating Officer at Cloudnine Hospitals, where he played a pivotal role in national expansion, service diversification, and operational turnaround initiatives. His leadership at Manipal Ankur also reflected a strong alignment with healthcare delivery models tailored to specialised and regional needs.

“His experience in scaling integrated healthcare operations will be instrumental in building on our mission to provide affordable, quality care in Tier-II and Tier-III cities, as we grow our presence, Nitin’s ability to align clinical and operational priorities will be key to sustaining impact,” said Dr. Shuchin Bajaj, Founder Director of Ujala Cygnus.

Backed by General Atlantic and Amar Ujala Group, Ujala Cygnus recently enhanced its footprint through a strategic partnership with Amandeep Hospitals, acquiring a majority stake and expanding its network to 28 hospitals with a combined capacity of approximately 2,800 beds. The group now operates across key Northern states including Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttarakhand, and Haryana.
