The Maharashtra government has said that people flying into Mumbai will not require a negative RT-PCR test report if they have got both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. The government’s decision comes as the Covid cases in the country’s financial capital are on a downward trajectory.
In May, the state government had restricted the entry of domestic passengers into Mumbai via Mumbai Airport and told them to produce an RT-PCR negative test report which is not older than 48 hours before their travel.

Maharashtra chief secretary Iqbal Singh Chahal has said that there are many people who are embarking journey to Delhi or other centres of business in the morning and they are travelling back the same day in the evening or the following day in the morning. In these cases, undergoing an RT-PCR test and obtaining the report becomes difficult.
