Rajasthan Govt Covid-19 Vaccines

In a bid to accelerate the Covid-19 vaccination process, the Rajasthan government has reportedly decided to purchase vaccines from abroad by floating a global tender. The state government has also decided to issue approvals for direct purchase of drugs and equipment from companies for the Covid-19 treatment.

The Rajasthan government’s decision comes after a meeting of the council of ministers of the state on Wednesday under Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s chairmanship. It was decided in the meeting that swift procurement will be made for the Covid-19 vaccines, medicines, oxygen concentrators, and other necessary resources to be able to deal with the spike in the novel coronavirus infection cases in the north-western state, according to news agency PTI.

The Rajasthan government’s council of ministers has also reportedly expressed concern over the rise of the Covid-19 cases. They observed that the speed of vaccination against the Covid-19 has slowed down considerably owing to the lack of an adequate supply of Covid vaccines from the union government. The vaccination drive for the 18-44 age group has begun in few places in Rajasthan due to the paucity of vaccines.
