The Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, in collaboration with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), will organise the 9th edition of India Medical Device 2026 on August 7–8 at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
The flagship conference, themed “Towards Viksit Bharat: Advancing India as a Global Hub for Quality Medical Devices,” will bring together policymakers, regulators, industry leaders, healthcare institutions, academia, innovators, and global stakeholders to shape the future of India’s rapidly growing medical devices sector.
Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers J.P. Nadda will address the conference on “Atmanirbhar MedTech: Accelerating India’s Journey towards Viksit Bharat,” outlining the government’s vision for building an innovation-driven and globally competitive medical devices ecosystem. Union Minister of State Anupriya Patel, senior government officials, NITI Aayog representatives, the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI), CEOs of leading MedTech companies, start-ups, and healthcare experts will also participate.
The two-day conference will feature discussions on localisation of medical device manufacturing, strengthening testing infrastructure, quality assurance, artificial intelligence (AI), Software as a Medical Device (SaMD), regulatory reforms, clinical evidence generation, export opportunities, service ecosystems, and reimbursement frameworks to support Universal Health Coverage.

India’s medical devices industry, currently valued at over USD 15 billion, is among the fastest-growing segments of the healthcare sector. Driven by initiatives such as the National Medical Devices Policy 2023, the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme, Medical Device Parks, and regulatory reforms, the sector is witnessing significant growth.
India Medical Device 2026 aims to accelerate investments, foster technology collaborations, showcase innovation, and reinforce India’s ambition of becoming a global MedTech manufacturing and innovation hub aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.
