Amgen is set to establish a new Science and Innovation Centre at Genome Valley in Hyderabad, further strengthening the city’s position on the global life sciences and biotechnology map. The centre is expected to become operational in 2027 and will form part of Amgen’s global Research & Development network.
The new facility will focus on discovery chemistry, drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics (DMPK), and precision medicine. It will bring together experimental science, data, digital technologies and biotechnology to accelerate scientific discovery and support the development of innovative medicines.
Dr Jay Bradner, Executive Vice President of R&D, Artificial Intelligence and Data at Amgen, said the Hyderabad centre will strengthen the integration of science, data and technology across the company’s global research capabilities while complementing its strong US-based R&D presence.

The facility will work closely with Amgen’s research sites worldwide, making India an increasingly important part of the company’s global R&D ecosystem.

The development marks another significant step in Hyderabad’s emergence as a major destination for global life sciences research, innovation and biotechnology. Amgen’s investment is expected to further strengthen India’s role in the company’s global scientific and R&D network while supporting the development of next-generation medicines.
