Baby Memorial Hospitals (BMH) has appointed Shanmuga Priyan as Cluster Chief Executive Officer for its Chennai, Tamil Nadu operations under the KKR Platform. In his new role, he will lead the group’s Chennai business, driving strategic growth, operational excellence, healthcare transformation, and the expansion of hospital and clinical services.

With more than 24 years of experience in hospital management and healthcare leadership, Shanmuga Priyan has built an extensive career spanning hospital operations, P&L management, project commissioning, quality improvement, business development, and strategic planning. His appointment reflects BMH’s continued focus on strengthening leadership capabilities as it expands its presence in South India.

Prior to joining Baby Memorial Hospitals, he held senior leadership positions at renowned healthcare organisations, including JOGO Health, Gleneagles Hospitals, Apollo Hospitals, Fortis Healthcare Hospitals, and Vasan Healthcare. Over the past few years, he has also worked as an independent healthcare consultant, advising hospital groups, medical institutions, startups, and healthcare investors on expansion strategies, operational transformation, and project development across India and international markets.

Throughout his consulting career, Shanmuga Priyan has played a key role in supporting major healthcare projects, including collaborations with ISRM Corporate Hospitals, Medway Group of Hospitals, MGM Healthcare, Reliva Rehab, Wellcube Dubai, and St. Peter’s Medical College & Hospital. His expertise in hospital commissioning, strategic transactions, and healthcare transformation is expected to support Baby Memorial Hospitals’ long-term growth objectives.
