MedVital

India’s medtech ecosystem continues to witness growing investor interest in clinically driven healthcare innovation, with MedVital announcing the closure of an ₹18 crore growth funding round led by Alkemi Growth Capital. The round also saw participation from Dr. Sanjay Arora, Shubhan Ventures, along with existing backers, reinforcing confidence in the company’s regenerative healthcare platform strategy.

The fresh capital infusion is expected to strengthen MedVital’s expansion across Indian healthcare institutions, accelerate new product development, and enhance its proprietary capabilities spanning medical devices, biomaterials, and biologics. The company also plans to optimise manufacturing efficiencies and strengthen supply chain operations as it scales its commercial footprint.

Founded in 2024, MedVital is positioning itself at the convergence of advanced wound care, regenerative aesthetics, and chronic dermatological care, segments witnessing rising clinical demand amid increasing incidences of diabetes, ageing-related conditions, and long-term skin disorders. The company’s approach focuses on improving access to evidence-based technologies tailored to specific clinical applications in hospitals and speciality care settings.

Within advanced wound care, MedVital operates through its NoWound portfolio, which includes Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT) systems and a chitosan-based liquid bandage designed for institutional healthcare use. Industry experts note that advanced wound care penetration in India remains relatively low despite a significant patient burden, creating substantial headroom for innovation-led adoption.

According to the company, its wound care technologies have already gained traction across more than 200 corporate and public healthcare institutions nationwide, supported by repeat clinical usage and increasing acceptance among healthcare providers.

Beyond wound management, MedVital has also entered the regenerative medical aesthetics segment through its Elyara portfolio. The range is focused on non-invasive skin and hair restoration solutions built around peptide-led regenerative signalling pathways, reflecting growing demand for science-backed aesthetic and dermatological interventions.

Commenting on the development, Dr. Varun Gupta, Co-Founder of MedVital, said that the increasing burden of ageing, diabetes, and chronic skin conditions is driving the need for clinically validated regenerative technologies. He added that the company is building integrated solutions across biomaterials, biologics, and device-based systems to address unmet needs in wound care, aesthetics, and chronic dermatology.

Speaking on the investment, Alka Goel said MedVital’s platform-led strategy, early hospital adoption, and execution capabilities position it strongly within the emerging regenerative care landscape. She noted that the company has the potential to build a globally relevant healthcare technology business from India.

Dr. Sanjay Arora highlighted the company’s focus on regulatory preparedness, product quality, and long-term capability creation as important differentiators for sustainable growth in healthcare technology.

Going forward, MedVital plans to deepen its institutional reach across hospitals and healthcare providers while increasing investments in clinical education and evidence-generation initiatives. The company is also expected to continue expanding its wound care offerings and regenerative aesthetics pipeline as it builds a broader medtech platform focused on consistent clinical outcomes and proprietary innovation.
