Zydus Lifesciences has launched a Denosumab biosimilar in India, expanding its oncology and biologics portfolio and strengthening access to bone-health therapies for cancer patients. The product, branded as Zyrifa, is available in a 120 mg subcutaneous formulation and is indicated for the prevention of skeletal-related events in patients with bone metastases from solid tumours.

Denosumab is widely used in oncology care to reduce the risk of fractures, spinal cord compression and other complications that significantly impact patient mobility and quality of life. With the launch of Zyrifa, Zydus aims to offer a more affordable treatment option in a therapy area where biologics often remain cost-intensive.

The company has priced the biosimilar at an MRP of ₹12,495, positioning it competitively within India’s growing biosimilars market. According to the company, the launch aligns with its strategy of improving patient access to advanced biologic therapies while strengthening its presence in complex and specialty care segments.

The introduction of the Denosumab biosimilar underscores Zydus Lifesciences’ continued focus on oncology, biosimilars and chronic care, as Indian pharmaceutical companies increasingly invest in high-value biologics to address unmet clinical needs and expand treatment affordability.
