Medtronic and Symbiosis

Symbiosis International (Deemed) University has partnered with Medtronic, a global leader in healthcare technology, to unveil a one-of-its-kind integrated training facility — the Symbiosis Medtronic Experience Centre, The TechKnow Verse. Established under the Symbiosis Centre for Health Skills (SCHS), this state-of-the-art centre is set to redefine medical education, experiential learning, and academic–industry collaboration in the country.

Positioned as an advanced learning ecosystem, the Experience Centre brings cadaver-based training and cutting-edge surgical technologies together under one roof. The facility is equipped to offer hands-on learning using modern cranial, spinal, and orthopaedic innovations such as surgical navigation systems, brain and spine robotics, and 3D imaging platforms.

The initiative aims to empower neurosurgeons, orthopaedic and spine specialists, and ENT surgeons with early, immersive exposure to real-world surgical scenarios. Through access to world-class technology and structured experiential learning, the centre is expected to enhance technical proficiency, elevate standards of care, and ultimately improve patient outcomes across specialities.

Speaking on the launch, Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Pro-Chancellor, Symbiosis International (Deemed University), stated that the centre marks a “major step forward in strengthening academic excellence and global competitiveness,” highlighting the university’s vision of nurturing innovation through practical, high-impact healthcare training.

Echoing this vision, Mandeep Singh Kumar, Managing Director & Vice President, Medtronic India, noted that the collaboration reflects Medtronic’s mission-driven approach. “Our goal is to support clinicians with the latest in healthcare technology and knowledge, ensuring they are prepared to address evolving clinical needs and deliver superior patient care.”

Dr. Rajiv Yeravdekar, Provost, Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at Symbiosis, emphasised that the partnership would fuel continuous, lifelong learning for India’s healthcare community. “By providing exposure to advanced technologies and hands-on training, we are directly contributing to stronger clinical foundations and better patient outcomes,” he said.
