Fortis Healthcare has strengthened its presence in the Bengaluru healthcare market with the acquisition of TMI Healthcare, the entity operating People Tree Hospitals, in a transaction valued at ₹430 crore. The deal involves the takeover of People Tree Hospitals’ facility located in Yeshwanthpur, Bengaluru, marking a significant consolidation move in the city’s hospital sector.

The acquisition covers the entire hospital business, including its operating infrastructure and the underlying land parcel, ensuring seamless continuity of healthcare services. In addition, Fortis has also acquired an adjacent land parcel from a third party, providing scope for future capacity expansion and long-term growth at the Yeshwanthpur location.

From an industry perspective, the transaction aligns with Fortis Healthcare’s strategy of expanding its hospital network in key urban clusters through brownfield acquisitions, allowing faster scale-up compared to greenfield projects. Bengaluru remains a priority market due to sustained demand for tertiary and quaternary care services.
