Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to advancing healthcare infrastructure across the state. During his visit to BRD Medical College in Gorakhpur, he announced that Uttar Pradesh is on the brink of achieving the ‘one district, one medical college’ goal, aimed at enhancing medical education and healthcare services.

Speaking at an event where 483 laptops were distributed to MBBS students and paramedical staff under the Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of quality research, innovation, and the technical upgradation of medical staff. He highlighted that these elements are crucial for improving the state’s healthcare system and ensuring better patient care.

CM Yogi Adityanath revealed plans for the establishment of new medical colleges in various districts, including upcoming institutions in Ballia and Balrampur. Additionally, medical colleges in Shamli and Sambhal are set to commence their academic sessions soon. With these expansions, Uttar Pradesh aims to offer 10,500 MBBS seats this year.

During his two-day visit, the Chief Minister inspected the medical and pediatrics wards at BRD Medical College, interacting with patients and gathering feedback from their attendants. He commended the medical community for their dedication to public service and urged them to maintain patience and compassion in their interactions with patients.

The Chief Minister also acknowledged the support from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, noting the establishment of a super speciality hospital for Japanese Encephalitis treatment and a regional unit of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in the region.

As Uttar Pradesh moves closer to achieving comprehensive medical coverage across all districts, the state’s focus on enhancing healthcare education and services continues to be a priority.
