Indian healthcare AI startup Jivi has achieved a significant milestone by securing the number one position on the Open Medical LLM (Large Language Model) Leaderboard. Jivi MedX, the startup’s specialized medical LLM, has outperformed prominent models such as OpenAI’s GPT-4 and Google’s Med-PaLM 2.

Co-founded by former BharatPe Chief Product Officer, Ankur Jain and GV Sanjay Reddy, Chairman of Reddy Ventures, Jivi has quickly ascended to the top of the AI healthcare industry since its inception in January 2024. The leaderboard, hosted by the renowned AI platform Hugging Face, evaluates medical-specific LLMs based on their proficiency in answering medical questions from various exams and research contexts.

Jivi MedX achieved an impressive average score of 91.65 across nine benchmark categories. These categories include the US Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE), Indian medical entrance exams (AIIMS and NEET), and detailed assessments in clinical knowledge, medical genetics, and professional medicine. This high performance underscores the model’s capability in delivering accurate and reliable medical information.
