United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Indonesia have entered into a partnership to set up a specialised cardiac hospital in Surakarta, Central Java. This collaboration facilitated through an agreement between the UAE’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Indonesia’s Ministry of Health, will see the establishment of the UAE-Indonesia Hospital for Cardiac Diseases at Solo Techno Park.

Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, UAE’s Minister of State, signed the agreement alongside his counterpart, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Indonesia’s Minister of Health. This initiative, generously funded by the UAE government, will bolster the health sector in Indonesia, providing a 100-bed facility dedicated to cardiac care.

Al Sayegh emphasised that this joint venture aligns with the UAE’s commitment to fortifying the relationship between the two nations, especially in advancing health and sustainable development agendas. Echoing the sentiment, Sadikin expressed gratitude for the UAE’s support and acknowledged the potential impact of the project on Indonesian healthcare, especially in the cardiological domain.

Husin Bagis, the Indonesian Ambassador to the UAE, remarked that the upcoming hospital will be pivotal for residents of Surakarta and nearby regions, ensuring they have more convenient access to medical care.
