In a significant development, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, the Minister of Health, has officially announced the establishment of the Health Communication Center, a pivotal initiative aimed at fostering better connections between the Ministry, healthcare beneficiaries, and various media outlets. The Ministry’s official spokesperson, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, has been entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing this newly created center, as revealed during a recent media conference broadcasted on the Ministry’s official channels.
Dr. Al-Awadhi emphasized the paramount importance of actively listening to and engaging with the public, extending a warm welcome to proposals that could enhance the operational framework. He stressed the adoption of a “two-way” communication policy, underlining its significance in promoting transparency and responsiveness.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, serving as both the Director of the Health Communication Center and the Ministry’s official spokesperson, underscored the pivotal role of effective communication, particularly in healthcare institutions. He emphasized that the establishment of this center is driven by the belief that the media interface of the healthcare system should match the magnitude of the efforts and sacrifices made by colleagues in the Ministry.
Al-Sanad further highlighted the center’s structure, which comprises six departments, all operating under the Office of the Minister of Health. The center is expected to commence its operations at the beginning of November, with the primary objective of ensuring optimal and efficient communication for the nation’s healthcare institution, both in the realm of health media and community engagement.
Healthcare Development
In a separate update, Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadhi, the Minister of Health, conducted an inspection of the ongoing Al-Sabah Hospital project to assess the latest construction progress. This visit is part of his routine oversight of healthcare development initiatives, with a particular focus on expediting the project’s completion. According to the Ministry’s press release, the project has achieved an impressive 81% completion rate.
During his inspection, Minister Al-Awadhi issued directives to address any necessary requirements to accelerate the project’s advancement until it reaches full implementation. The Al-Sabah Hospital project holds a central place in the healthcare infrastructure development plan, with the goal of enhancing medical services available to the public. It consists of three distinct buildings: the primary hospital structure, the central services building, and a parking facility. The hospital’s design includes accommodation for 512 beds, featuring 73 outpatient clinics, 105 intensive care beds, and various essential departments aimed at ensuring efficient hospital management and operations.
