AIIMS Delhi - amrit kaal

AIIMS Delhi, the busiest healthcare facility in India with over 25,000 daily patients, is embarking on a transformative journey into the future of healthcare. Under the leadership of Director M. Srinivas, the institute is taking groundbreaking strides by incorporating artificial intelligence (AI), drones, and robotics into medical practices to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of medical supplies.

The primary objective behind this pioneering initiative is to overcome challenges like traffic congestion, which can hinder the prompt delivery of critical medical provisions. By harnessing the power of AI, drones, and robotics, AIIMS Delhi aims to revolutionize healthcare delivery, embracing an era the government calls “Amrit Kaal,” symbolizing hope, empowerment, and an inclusive economy.

Already, successful trials for drone delivery have been conducted by the Indian Council of Medical Research and AIIMS-Rishikesh. States such as Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh have initiated pilot programs for emergency medical supply deliveries via drones.

In addition to streamlining supply chains, AIIMS Delhi is also focusing on developing AI-powered diagnostic tools. These tools will assist doctors in accurate diagnosis and treatment recommendations by analyzing medical images from X-ray machines or smartphone cameras, detecting even the subtlest abnormalities indicative of potential diseases.

Through their resolute commitment to researching and adopting AI, drones, and robotics in healthcare, AIIMS Delhi is set to lead the way in leveraging technology for the improvement of healthcare services and accessibility in the future.
