
Natco Pharma, a pharmaceutical company, has made the decision to establish a subsidiary in Indonesia with an expenditure of up to $3 million as part of a goal to boost growth and profitability through incursions into new markets.
The company would initially provide $1 million as capital to the subsidiary, a 51:49 joint venture with PT. Mitra Medis Exim (MME), is a 40-year-old multi-diversified Mitra Jaya Group company. Natco Pharma stated that its board had approved the establishment of the subsidiary and that it would be the majority stakeholder and make the remaining investment as and when the company needed the money.
MME, which will own a 49% share in the company, distributes active medicinal ingredients and excipients to Indonesian consumers.
