COVID has acted as an eye opener for the need of healthcare professionals and also heightened adoption of technology to enable overall purpose of healthcare delivery. Tax relief in the space of Telehealth Education for preparing and providing skilled healthcare professionals along with wage reforms for health professionals can make this career path attractive for youth of our country who are struggling to find employment.

With Ayushman Bharat, the Indian government has been able to provide access to acute care for its masses. In this budget we would like to see greater focus and emphasis on the “well-being of Indians”. This will require technology to integrate and deliver preventive, promotive and primary healthcare to the doorstep of every Indian.

Also, the current health budget must address the reactive healthcare needs with complete focus on secondary healthcare. We hope the government considers investing 25% of their budget in primary healthcare (proactive healthcare). As a result the same would help them optimize their expenditure on overall healthcare budget more effectively.
