The Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal has assured that the state has braced itself with adequate arrangements to check on the spread of Covid-19. With the third wave of COVID-19 showing its impact, there has been a rapid spike in the number of cases.


“About 2500 new cases have been reported on Friday alone and the number of active cases is 8000 in the state, out of which 114 cases are of the Omicron variant. Out of 114 patients, 83 have been cured and 31 are active cases,” shared Manohar Lal, while addressing a press conference today. Education Minister Kanwar Pal and Additional Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Dr. Amit Agrawal were also present in the conference.

The CM that the spreading rate of the Omicron variant is 1.5 times higher and according to experts, Omicron-led third COVID wave may peak by January 25, 2022. He added that till date, more than 3.61 crore people in the State have been vaccinated, out of which more than 2.10 crore people have received the first dose and more than 1.50 crore people have received the second dose.


Meanwhile, the health minister of Haryana Anil Vij also sprung into action and took stock of the health care services. Vij conducted a surprise inspection at the Civil Hospital, Panchkula and examined the functioning of the PSA Oxygen Plant installed there and also took stock of the health services in the hospital. He also interacted with the operator of the PSA plant and also took information regarding the functioning of the equipment related to the plant and gave necessary guidelines to the officers present
