Manipal Hospitals to Receive Sputnik V Vaccine

Hospital chain major Manipal Hospitals has said that it has joined hands with Dr Reddy’s Laboratories for adding the Russian Sputnik V Covid-19 vaccine into its existing vaccine portfolio consisting Covishield and Covaxin. The Sputnik V vaccine rollout by Bengaluru’s Manipal Hospitals is a part of the soft launch piloted in a limited basis by Hyderabad’s Dr Reddy’s last month, Manipal Hospitals has said.

“Manipal Hospitals has worked closely with Dr Reddy’s to create the state-of-the-art infrastructure to maintain Sputnik V vaccine,” PTI quoted Manipal Health Enterprises Chief Operating Officer Karthik Rajagopal as saying. Rajagopal added that Manipal Hospitals has accomplished the Covid-19 vaccination drives with Covaxin and Covishield across India. With the new Sputnik V addition, it will continue the vaccination efforts.

The hospital chain major expects that the Russian vaccine will be made available for the public in the second half of June, he also said.”We are pleased to collaborate with Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru as we scale up our soft pilot launch of the Sputnik V vaccine in India and extend it to more cities ahead of the commercial launch later in June.”In the upcoming months, we hope to inoculate as many Indians as possible,” the new agency also quoted Dr Reddy’s Branded Markets (India and Emerging Markets) CEO M V Ramana as saying.
