Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be soon visiting cities where vaccine development is in the process. In an endeavour to take stock of the vaccine progress at different facilities, Prime Minister will fly to Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Pune on Saturday.

As per a TOI report, he will be visiting vaccine maker Bharat Biotech’s facilities, where work on the development of India’s first indigenous Covid-19 vaccine, Covaxin, is under way.


He will then visit Zydus Cadila facility in Ahmedabad and the Serum Institute of India (SII) facilites in Pune ZyCoV-D is under development at Zydus Cadila facility while AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine is being manufactured at SII.

At a time when cases are on the rise in some cities across country, vaccine seems to be only way to combat the situation. Government is taking all possible measures to ensure that vaccine is available as soon as possible. Recently Prime Minister held a meeting with State Chief Ministers to understand the situation in the states and how they were dealing with the same.


Centre has also directed state government to check the storage facilities in their respective states so that vaccination drive could be carried out smoothly.
