In a minor reshuffle in Karnataka, Dr. Sudhakar K has been allocated health portfolio, replacing B Sriramulu, an official notification issued from Raj Bhavan said. Sudhakar K already holds portfolio of Medical Education in the government of Karnataka.
The move holds significance as the State is grappling with COVID-19 crisis, recording second highest cases after Maharashtra. The State has reported as many as 1,20,289 total active cases and 9,966 total deaths due to Covid-19 pandemic until October 11, as per the official data.
Dr Sudhakar K is an MLA from Chikkaballapura constituency and also the district in-charge for the same. He is a trained doctor by qualification. Sriramulu has been given the social welfare department which was with PWD minister Govind Karajol as additional charge.
