Meghalaya Government always holds the belief that a state or a country can’t grow and prosper until issues of a common man are given a ear and are resolved accordingly. With this objective, every Ministry and Department of the State works in cohesion for the betterment of the people.

Recently, AL Hek, the Health Minister of the state went out of his way to help a lady in distress during COVID-19 pandemic. The lady was posted in Meghalaya. Due to health issues, she wanted to go Rohtak (her hometown) with her husband who wanted to travel by road. As the Sate was under lockdown and several protocols were in place, they were finding it tough to plan a visit to their hometown.

Finally they approached the Minister and he readily agreed to help the family. Her husband was allowed on medical ground from Haryana and he drove all the way to Meghalaya. The Health minister on humanity ground helped him in all possible ways. The magnanimous Minister himself went and dropped the lady at the border of the Meghalaya when the local administration did not allow the husband to enter at the border due to administrative rules and protocols.

Finally, she along with her husband and brother left for Haryana. The whole Family was overwhelmed by the gesture of the minister who they have termed a true leader of the people.

Recently when the Minister was in Delhi on an official trip, the family decided to honour him. The Rohtak family felicitated him for the help which he had extended to the lady during first phase of Lockdown.
