Covid-19confirmed cases cross 7 lakh

The total tally of confirmed COVID-19 cases has crossed the mark of seven lakh in India even as the government is undertaking all possible measures to combat the pandemic. As per the official data, the total known case has mounted to 7,19,665.

The death toll in the country due to the pandemic reached 20,160. A total of 4,39,948 patients have recovered so far, taking the recovery rate to 61.13 per cent.

With more than 7 lakh cases, India has become third worst affected country in terms of total recorded cases. Maharashtra has reported the highest number of cases, followed by Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka.

Maharashtra recorded 5,368 fresh coronavirus cases, taking the COVID-19 tally to 2,11,987. 204 coronavirus patients died in the last 24 hours.

Coronavirus cases in Delhi crossed the one lakh-mark on Monday, 125 days after the first case was reported in the city on March 2.

On Monday, the government announced that 21 states and Union Territories have recorded higher recovery rate than that of whole country.
