NEET UG 2020

Amidst news circulating in social sites regarding postponement of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test- Under Graduate (NEET-UG) 2020 , the National Testing Agency (NTA) has given clarification.

Terming the new fake, the agency has stated that the exam has not been postponed and it will be conducted on the scheduled date— July 26.

NTA, through an official notification, said: “It has come to the notice of the National Testing Agency (NTA) that a fake public notice dated June 15 with the subject line-postponement of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG July 2020- is being circulated through various sources and social media forums.”

NTA said: “All candidates and parents are hereby informed that no such decision has been taken by NTA and concerned authorities till date.”

Earlier the Press Information Bureau (PIB) had also issued a similar clarification.

“Claim: A whatsapp forward of an alleged public notice by @DG_NTA is doing rounds claiming that NEET- UG has been postponed to august. #PIBFackCheck: It’s #Fake. There is no such advisory on postponing the test. Check your info only from authentic sources,” a tweet from PIB stated.

NEET is conducted by NTA to provide admission into undergraduate medical and allied courses across India. NEET is the only pan-India entrance examination which is being conducted for the medical undergraduate admissions.

Earlier the exam was scheduled to be held on May 3, but it was rescheduled for July 26 in the wake of corona led lockdown.
