COVID-19 cases

With 6,566 new infections in the last 24 hours, the total number of cases has in India has mounted to 1,58,333, as per the Union health ministry data. This is the seventh day in a row that India has reported more than 6,000 cases of Covid-19.

A total of 4,531 people have lost their lives due to COVID-19. The data states 194 people have died between Wednesday morning and Thursday morning. 67,691 patients have recovered as well and they have been sent home.


The recovery rate from COVID-19 disease gradually improved in last few days. Over 42% of the total cases were cured from the deadly virus, highest so far.

Meanwhile, States also present a grim picture with cases are on the rise. Maharashtra continues to fare worst among States with total cases rise to 56,948 and the death toll to 1,897.

Tamil Nadu witnessed 646 new COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours. The state confirmed the highest number of coronavirus cases after Maharashtra. The number of coronavirus patients in the State rose to 17,728.


Delhi witnessed new record on Wednesday with 792 new cases in a single day — the highest so far. With this, the state’s total tally has crossed the 15k mark to reach 15,257.
