Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot for his meticulous handling of migrant labour crisis amidst Corona led nationwide lockdown.

The PM praised the CM while holding a video conference with State Chief Ministers on Monday to take stock of the situation and the way ahead.

As per a India Today report, PM Modi cited several steps undertaken by the Rajasthan chief minister to tackle the migrant crisis. He mentioned that Rajasthan government’s decision to increase the working hours of factory workers may be subject to criticism but is a step in the right direction. The PM termed the move as an example for others to follow upon.

The Rajasthan government had issued a notification on April 11, extending the working hours of factory workers from 8 hours per day, six days a week to 12 hours per day, six days a week.
