Operational Module for Covid19 facility

Medical Education and Drugs Department, Government of Maharashtra has released an Operation Module for Covid -19 Facility in the State of Maharashtra. The compendium which enlists all the guidelines to be followed for Covid 19 Facility has been drawn up by Dr Sanjay Mukherjee (IAS) Secretary, Medical Education and Drugs Department and his colleagues Dr. Rakesh Waghmare, Associate Professor, Grant Government Medical College, Mumbai and Dr. Dinesh Dhodi, Associate Professor, Grant Government Medical College, Mumbai.

The 360-page compendium includes instructions to handle the corona crisis. Besides, the information shall also be useful for doctors who are fighting the virus across the states as it includes all the necessary steps on setting up isolation and quarantine wards. It also compiles information on various other guidelines such as on Rational use of Personal Protective Equipment, Guidelines for Infection Prevention and Control in Healthcare Facilities, Specimen Collection, Packaging and Transport Guidelines for 2019 novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV), Guidelines on Clinical Management of COVID and use of Hydroxychloroquine as prophylaxis for SARS CoV2 infection, Dead Body Management, etc.


The compendium also includes a flowchart that clearly explains the Covid 19 facility operations which includes several key elements such as Intra-department Coordination, Training, Manpower Identification, Clinical Management Guidelines, Guidance on Consumables & Equipment, Transport Management and discharge protocol. Measures for management of any patient coming to a COVID 19 Health Care facility have also been included in the list by Dr Mukherjee.

Daily Reports of Covid Cases

Besides, the compendium, Dr Sanjay Mukherjee, along with his team, is also publishing reports on Covid cases on a daily basis. The daily reports explains Trends of Daily Cases in India, State-wise Distribution of Cases & Deaths, Date wise trend of Cases in India & Maharashtra, Day wise trend of Cases India & Maharashtra with the help of charts.
