Meherbai Tata Memorial Hospital

In an endeavour to boost cancer care in Jharkhand, Bihar, and adjoining areas, Ratan Tata, Chairman of Tata Trusts recently inaugurated renovated Meherbai Tata Memorial Hospital (MTMH) in Dhatkidih, Jamshedpur.

The hospital which is located near Tata Main Hospital (TMH) has been renovated with an investment of Rs 65 crores. Equipped with advanced facilities including Jharkhand’s first PET-CT machine, the hospital will help bolster patient care.


“We look forward to more lives that may be saved and serve the mankind,” Ratan Tata said addressing during inaugural ceremony.

Chairman of Tata Sons N Chandrasekaran said we are extremely delighted that this new cancer building has been completed and delighted that it was being inaugurated by Tata.

This will provide significant help to affected patients of this part of the world and Jharkhand, he said while appreciating that the building was completed within very short time.

Last year on March 2, Ratan Tata had laid the foundation of the project. Over the past one year, a new extension building has come up in the TMH campus, connected to MTMH.

The two buildings together house comprehensive cancer care facility, including an OPD, Medical Oncology and Radiotherapy wards, Day Care chemotherapy ward and Pritpal Palliative Care Centre.
