Tamil Nadus Health Department has signed a pact with the Government of Victoria, Australia.
It will pave the way for efficient trauma system governance, creation of trauma registry and improvement in trauma care quality and research.
Vijaya Baskar, Health Minister, and Jill Hennessy, Minister for Health and Ambulance Services, Victoria, signed the agreement while on an exposure visit to Australia.
The health department had also launched the Tamil Nadu Accident and Emergency Care Initiative with the assistance of the National Trauma Research Institute, Australia.
The delegation also analysed Victorias approach to trauma care, STEMI and other efforts to improve clinical outcomes.
The Minister also pointed out that implementation of the protocol at the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital (RGGGH), which led to the reduction in mortality.
The response time of the 108 ambulance service had also improved.
Nagarajan, Additional Secretary of Health and P. Uma Maheswari, Project Director, Tamil Nadu Health Systems Project were also part of the delegation.
