HPPSCThe Himachal Pradesh Cabinet has decided to fill 200 posts of MBBS doctors through the Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC), on a regular basis.

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur presided over the Cabinet meeting.


714 staff nurses will also be recruited by the Health and Family Welfare Department on contract through the HPPSC.

This decision came up in a bid to cope up with the shortage of doctors and staff nurses in the state, said an official statement.

The Cabinet also gave its assent to start telemedicine services in remote Pangi areas in Chamba district through Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Ltd.


To cut down the price of sugar for above poverty ration line (APL) card holders from Rs 29 to Rs 24 per kg and Rs 18 to Rs 13 per kg for beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act 2013 has also been decided.
