Hindustan Syringes & Medical Devices Ltd (HMD) has received Haryana’s prestigious State Export Award in recognition of its immense contribution in exports of medical devices.

The award, which included a certificate of merit and cash component, was given by Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar in a ceremony organised by the state’s Industries and Commerce Department at HSIIDC auditorium in Gurugram on November 30.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajiv Nath, Jt Managing Director of HMD, said, We are extremely happy with this recognition. We not only take it as a recognition but see it as a boost to Make in India mission of Honble PM Shri Narendra Modi. With this kind of recognition and right policy push India has all the potential to emerge as a global medical device manufacturing hub.

We at HMD are glad to take the lead in this critical healthcare sector. We will prove our mettle and contribute immensely in exports of medical devices in 2017 as well, he added.

HMD’s main export items included medical devices like syringes, IV cannulas and surgical blades, among others.

Founded in 1957, HMD’s primary markets include India, USA, Europe, Middle East and secondary markets like Africa and South East Asia.

HMD has seven plants in different locations in South Asia and has more than 3,500 employees. Its major products include single use syringes, single use needles, IV cannulas, safety IV cannulas, surgical blades, scalpels, scalpvein sets, glass syringes, nonreusable (AD) syringes, blood collection tubes, blood collection needle and blood collection set.
