MedantaMedanta has announced to open a 250-bed hospital in Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) to offer improved care for patients in need of specialist treatment. The hospital development is being completed in tandem with DHCC and Indian healthcare provider, Medanta. Likely to open in early 2017, the hospital will be Medantas first UAE hospital.

Medanta, will offer broad-ranging specialities like cardiology, orthopaedics, neurology, oncology, and liver and renal transplants. The facility is expected to capitalise on Dubais growing medical tourism industry and replicate the success of Medantas hospital at Gurgaon. Between 2009 and March 2014, the hospital completed more than 150,000 procedures and surgeries. Up to 20,000 international inpatients have been treated since 2010.

Dr Raja Easa Al Gurg, Vice Chairwoman at DHCC, said, As Dubai steadily gains recognition for providing worldclass healthcare and establishing itself as a medical tourism hub, we have witnessed an increasing number of medical tourists over the past few years. We aim to focus on high quality and specialised healthcare. The establishment of Medanta at DHCC is an indicator of the strength of strategic partnerships and efforts to meet the demand for specialised medical treatments in the emirate and beyond.
