Dr Harsh Vardhan says Government aims to immunise every child

Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan has said that the Modi-led NDA government aims to immunise every child against fatal diseases.
Speaking at the launch of a music video to promote chile health and immunisation, Dr Harsh Vardhan said that the government was very serious about achieving total immunisation in India.
Dr Harsh Vardhan said every year lakhs of children die of diseases which can be prevented by simple immunisation.
The music video, titled ‘Phool khil jaayenge’, highlights the importance of immunisation in saving children’s lives.
According to the Health Ministry, over 14 lakh children in the age group of 1-5 years die every year due to preventable diseases like pneumonia and diarrhea.
Dr Harsh Vardhan said to achieve 100 percent immunisation, every volunteer needed to turn into a ‘health soldier’. He said the support of all political and religious leaders was necessary to achieve 100 percent immunisation.
