Every dental college in the country will have to host a website that provides details of all the facilities on campus. In a meeting that took place in early September, the Dental Council of India (DCI) ordered that every college upload information so that students can make an “informed choice”.

DCI members said with a large number of dental colleges operating in the country, students must be able to join an institute that suits their needs. “We are redesigning dental education and taking it to the next level. If every college has a website, a student residing in Delhi can go to a college in Kerala if there is information available,” said a DCI member.

The DCI stated that a college’s website must contain information about the hospital to which the college is affiliated and details of the staff along with their photograph and teaching experience. Colleges must launch the website by October-end and upload all the information that the DCI has prescribed. “This will ensure better mobility among students and increase transparency,” said a DCI member.
