Dutch electronics major Philips plans to expand its global Research &Development centre in Bangalore, Philips Innovation Campus to focus on healthcare and development of localised products for India. Philips India in its latest annual report said the company started research for lighting products in 2011. The company has also set-up a centre of competence for mobility to extend the capabilities in healthcare, lighting and consumer lifestyle to mobile platforms.

The company has already rolled out mobile applications like ‘Sanjivini’ which helps collection of patient information in rural areas and ‘Envision’ which helps to stream music, photos and videos from iPhone and iPads to connected Philips players.
